Amphion Medical Solutions Employment and MT Skills Assessment

Welcome to the Amphion transcription skills assessment. This test is being timed. It is expected you should complete this test within 1.5 hours. Failure to complete the test in the allotted time may affect your candidacy.

We look for the following in our medical language specialist applicants:

At least two years' hospital inpatient experience transcribing the "Basic Four" or at least two years' clinic experience transcribing all specialties (>4 specialties) in addition to any formal training.
Word/Windows/Internet Proficiency
U.S. Residency
Interest in employee status, not independent contractor status
Minimum System Requirements for Employment:

Intel Pentium IV 1.8 GHz or higher processor PC
1 gb RAM or better
Windows XP 32-bit or Vista 32-bit operating system
Operational Audio Card
Available USB port to accommodate foot pedal and headset
Operational Network Adapter Card
Firewall and anti-virus program
Software Components

Microsoft Office Suite 2003 or 2007 with Word, Excel viewer, and PowerPoint viewer OR Word 2003 or Word 2007 with Excel viewer 2007 and PowerPoint viewer 2007
Adobe Reader version 8 or higher (free download)

Internet Connection

High-speed internet connection (DSL, Satellite, Cable or Cellular) with a minimum of 768 KBps download verified through http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

Transcription Components

USB PC Headset with built-in microphone; or, VoIP PC gaming headset with built-in microphone (USB connection is recommended but not required); or any standalone computer microphone to use in concert with your existing transcription headset/headphones/earbuds (NOTE: Infinity IN USB-2 foot pedal available from Executive Communications at http://www.tvps.com. The cost is approximately $60.00).

3. Select the Internet icon from the list of zones at the top of the Security options.

1. Click Safari then Preferences from the main menu.

3. Click Enable JavaScript to put a checkmark by it.

For all functionality to work, you must use Firefox and Quicktime version 6.5.2.
Alternately you can download the files and use your own transcription program then cut and paste the transcription back to the mttest.com page.
